Meet the Quantum Surge team
Based in Cessnock, New South Wales, Quantum Surge is an ambitious F1 in Schools team ready to push boundaries. After competing in the cadet class last year, we decided to take a step up and tackle a much more demanding engineering challenge. Leadership and management
Our team is guided by Macy Wing, our dedicated team manager. Macy oversees project milestones, coordinates our competition deadlines, and keeps our squad motivated and unified. Working closely with our sponsors, school, and race officials, she ensures Quantum Surge operates with precision and professionalism at every turn.
Engineering and aerodynamic design
Translating theoretical speed into track performance is the responsibility of our design engineers, Charlotte Norley and Mason Burgess. Charlotte and Mason craft every curve of our miniature F1 car to maximize velocity and reduce drag under strict competition guidelines. Eli is our engineer, responsible for designing and developing our F1 in Schools car using CATIA. He uses his CAD skills to create precise 3D models, refine the car’s design, and ensure it is ready for manufacturing and testing.
Finance and manufacturing
A fast car requires solid funding and precision engineering. Lachlan Schilder leads our financial strategy as finance manager, tracking budgets and resources. Tama James bridges the gap across finance and manufacturing, ensuring our precision components are machined accurately and within our operational budget to get us race-ready.
